I called Dipple because the pilot light on my water heater had gone out and I couldn't get it back on. As soon as the service man walked in, he took one look at the outside of the water heater (which had rust stains on it) and told me I'd need a new one and handed me a price sheet with 2 options. The cheapest was a 40 gallon no-name water heater with a 6-year warranty for $1,999. I couldn't figure out why it was so high so I said I'd get back to them. So I had to pay a $50 dispatch fee for absolutely nothing. The man didn't even attempt to get my pilot light back on or see what was wrong with the water heater. I called Lowe's and got a Whirlpool 40 gallon water heater with 6-year warranty installed for $727. That's a difference of $1,272 for the exact same thing - I could get almost 2 more water heaters installed for the difference! I don't understand how Dipple can be THAT overpriced!!!
