I have an oddly shaped room, so I had pre-measured the floor. The salesperson at Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors said you should always install the carpet so that the seams fall the same way that the sun comes into the room. When the installer came, the first thing he did was try to talk me into putting the seams the other way. I don't think the salesperson and the installer meshed, so Abbey Capitol Floors & Interiors could do a better job in that regard. I know that they just hire out installers sometimes, so I don't know if that was part of the problem.
In the end, the installer did put the seams the way that the sun came in. He had to cut more angles that way. He wasn't too happy about it, and it took him extra time, but he did it. The carpet is beautiful! We picked a really low-pile carpet, so now the dog can lay on it. The color is great too. It looks 200% better!
