AVOID THIS SHOP!!!!!\r \r I took my Volkswagen Karmann Ghia into Sun Valley Automotive for break issues. I was told I needed a new master cylinder. I approved a new master cylinder. When I received my car back, I still didn't have breaks. So I took the car back. The second time Sun Valley had my car they did some brake wiring and kept my car for two to three months. When I received my car back, I still didn't have brakes. \r \r I then moved back to California and now my Karmann Ghia is being reviewed as to why I didn't have brakes. The brake system was entirely gone. The brakes, drums, rotors, and boots on the rear were shot. The front as well, the parking brake was stretched beyond fixable and the master cylinder looks as though it was never replaced. If it had been replaced the gas tank would have had to been pulled. I also found out that the elbows that hold my gas tank in are now bent and I was leaking gas.\r \r I am wondering now if I was charged for services not rendered, or if they did do the services and cause my gas issues. Also why would the mechanic not tell me about the condition of my brakes when I brought the car into them for brake issues.\r \r Also, I was charged for a smog that was never done. I was told by the night front desk attendant that my car passed smog but I'd have to go to the DMV for proof because they had my car for so long that they LOST my smog certificate. more
