We hired Service Specialties Inc to do a large project for our home. We were removing a water pump which we no longer needed, repairing the furnace’s engine and getting a water heater installed so it was a very large and expensive project.
Our first contact with the Service Specialties Inc was through the phone. The people who answer the phone are very, very, friendly. They are very professional, they have the answers to all the questions that we asked. They do their job very well. They know that they are the first contact with the public and I had a very positive experience with them.
The advance man who comes out to assess the project is outstanding. He is very polite and professional. When you have a question he explains things in detail. He is very thorough. You feel very safe with him. When you have people come into your home you want to feel comfortable. He is outstanding. He knew what things were going to cost. He looked into what your needs were and found something that would fit. He didn't try to oversell you on something that was bigger or more expensive. He wanted to work with you to make sure you got what you wanted to have done. It really felt like he was working with you.
Because of the amount of work we were having done we had a lot of different people doing work at our house. The quality of our work was very good but they need to be more careful with where they are standing. They stepped on some plants when they were trying to get to the hardware and those plants didn't survive. It was unfortunate because it was spring and we were getting the exterior of our home together. The advance man actually warned telling us that the technicians were not gardeners so I should make sure they don’t damage the garden. But overall the workers seemed to really work well as a team. During the day they had to shut off the water to perform their work but at night they were able to turn the water back on. During the entire project we were never without water at night. They are very timely.
I would appreciate if the company would tell you when workers were going to arrive early. When I hired them I assumed that they would all arrive at the same time but some days there would be a couple of workers who would arrive early. I just want to know who is coming to my house and I want to know that the people who are at my house are suppose to be there. It is a matter of safety.
Service Specialties Inc is a good company. We were recommended to them through our property manager who suggested we switch to them. Overall they did a great job.
