BEWARE!! BEWARE!!! I thought I could trust this guy because I had used him before. I had engine trouble so I towed my car to Johnson for repair. That day he called me and said that the ignition coil was bad and it would be $170.00 to repair. I gave him the OK. He charged me $95.00 labor and $71.50 for the coil + tax $171.33. Turns out the coil only cost him $16.00. Is this gouging? When I picked the car up and paid I had only gone a couple blocks when the car lost almost all power. So I returned and they said that I had a bad catalytic convertor.New problem? The owner said that the convert would be $175.00 so I left the car another day.The next day I got the call that the car was done so I asked what the total was. I was told $359.90. What choice did I have but to go pay the bill. As I pulled out of Johnsons lot I only made it a few blocks and the CHECK ENGINE light came on. Did they even test drive the car? I think NOT. Later I called his auto parts store and found out that he paid $181.00 and had charged me $247.00 + $61.00 labor ( could have had this done for $195.00 at a muffler shop). On top of all this he changed my oil $38.00 and said that I had called him and tell him to do so. I had just changed my own oil 1000 miles ago. When I confronted him with all this price gouging he told me to ""Go somewhere else"" I feel that I was over charged about $200.00 on a $531.00 bill.
