I am very disappointed with our recent service call from A-1 American. Our AC quit working and the guy shows up and says it needs a thorough cleaning and that it's $1100 but he's going to give us a discount down to $800. It was hot so we agreed. All he did was take the cover off, brush off some dust and spray some stuff in there. It took all of 20 minutes. My husband confronted him about the outrageous price and he said he'd recharge it for free even thought he's not supposed to and gave him some story about telling his bosses that it fell over in the truck and leaked out, but then he wrote it on the invoice. We paid him because he was very loud and rude and have been trying to call and talk to someone about the price gouging. We checked around and we shouldn't have been charged more than $440. The guy was only there for maybe an hour. We've been trying to call to get the situation fixed but no one has called us back for the past week. One guy we spoke with said that we were definitely charged too much and that he would have his boss call us. Well, his boss called today and said that we should've been charged $1600! That is unacceptable!!! I have reported A-1 to the Better Business Bureau and I encourage everyone to go elsewhere for repairs.
