If you are reading this, then chances are you are looking for an interior designer. Well, no need to do anymore research because I have discovered the best designer in the Portland, OR area. Let me give you a few details of my experience of working with Ida York Interior Design. I own a very successful painting company; Sisu Painting and part of my work involves working with interior designers. We have many fabulous interior designers in the Portland area and I enjoy working with many of them. However, working with Ida York has proven to be the best experience thus far. \r
I first met Ida York at a Lupus awareness fund raiser called Serving up Style. Ida contracted with us to do a faux finish for her set design. She was a dream to work with, the easiest by far because we worked with 5 designers on the job and she won one of the awards. That experience prompted me to hire her to re-design my entire master bedroom. I will post before and after pictures of the job online. Our bedroom turned out amazing!!! She did everything including all the furniture, a built-in, custom sewn bedroom linens, window covering, art work, lighting, rugs and accessories. The bedroom is such a peaceful retreat after a busy, stressful day of running a business. It’s my favorite room in the house and everyone that has seen it is just as amazed as we are.\r
During the design of the master bedroom, I was able to refer Ida York to a client who was struggling with some finish choices as she was attempting to update her house. Well, Ida, with all her instinctual design, experience and personality landed the account and ended up with a three phase entire house re-design which includes new furniture, kitchen remodel, bathroom remodel, master suite remodel, flooring, window treatments, wallpaper and so on. The client is overjoyed and so are we. She’s completed the first phase and when all three phases are complete, I plan to do before and after pictures on my website. \r
Here’s what I like about Ida; she has natural talent, she has experience, she has the right vendors to order her products from and she’s an absolute pleasure to spend time with. Just a phone call to her will enlighten you. And, if you think spending money on an interior designer is only for the very well-to-do, think again. I hired her for my master bedroom and I think if I would have done that all myself, I would have spent more because I don’t have the same connections and would have had to pay retail and made many costly mistakes. And, the end product would have been nothing like what she designed. It felt like we were on HGTV doing a makeover with Candice Olsen and I’m not kidding!! So, why trick yourself, when you can treat yourself? If you are going to do any re-design or de-decorating, just go straight to the top!!\r
