I filled this out earlier but have made changes to it and would NOT RECOMMEND Bishop Plumbing.\r

Nick was great. Did work efficiently and neatly. I was pleased with his personal effort to correct a problem (tub faucet would not attached well after tub was retiled due to change in wall thickness). HOWEVER, I'm NOT PLEASED with the company (Bishop Plumbing) in general. First, I told the employee who took my call to deal with me specifically regarding this service call, i.e. phone and speak to me to confirm, relay information, etc., and she did not do this when she changed the appointment time. I had called to get repairs done for my parents' home and was asked by my parents to handle this for them. I had specifically requested that I NOT be scheduled first thing in the morning and had her schedule it for later in the morning but this was changed without my agreement. \r

Second, Bishop's PRICES are EXORBITANT. Along with the problem related to the tub faucet, I wanted Nick to replace the valve CARTRIDGES in two showers to correct water pressure problems. The first option he quoted to correct the pressure problems was to replace the entire valve assemblies for each bathroom for a total of $2694!!! When I repeated that I only needed him to replace the cartridges he showed me the price per cartridge replacement: $560.90 for the first shower and $530.90 for the second!!! I could not believe it. This is an incredibly SIMPLE job that ANYONE CAN DO in under 5 minutes using a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. A new cartridge costs only around $20, but I was willing to pay a (reasonable) service fee for him to do the cartridges since he was already here. But not for $1100! \r

Nick did his best to defend the prices and the company in general, indicating that Bishop Plumbing's prices may be a bit more expensive but that they will come out in the middle of the night in emergencies. Then my reply to Bishop is that they should charge more for emergencies and not gouge customer's for non-emergent repairs and maintenance. Luckily I have some basic knowledge of plumbing repairs, but many people (including older people like my parents) do not and may believe these are reasonable prices. They are NOT!!!\r

One last thing, Bishop gave a $10 discount off the bill if I would fill out this survey while the service man was still there. (I saw somewhere else that someone got a $35 discount...whatever). I filled it out briefly while he was there, and while I liked the serviceman Nick very much, I would NOT RECOMMEND Bishop Plumbing. \r
