In July of last year I went in to Five Star Ford to look at a few cars. I was greeted by the salesman who was courteous and professional and directed me in purchasing my vehicle. When I stepped inside and sat down with the salesman we found that Five Star Ford didn't have a vehicle with the options I wanted on the lot but they agreed to find one that I wanted. A few minutes later the salesman came back with a build sheet and vin number for a car at another dealership. This car was exactly what I was looking for and even had a couple extra options that I liked. We negotiated price and came to an agreement. The salesman finished my paperwork and told me that my car would be at the dealership in a couple days and they would call me and keep me in the loop. They even gave me a loaner car to drive until my car got to the dealership. All of this was great and I was very satisfied with the dealership up to this point.\r

This is where things took a turn for the worst. After I left the dealership with the loaner car, I didn't hear anything from them for a couple days. On the third day I called to find out what was going on and they told me ""They went out to get your car this morning, we're going to clean it up and have it ready for you tomorrow"" Ok, great it took a little longer then I had hoped for, but that was fine. When I drove up to the dealership to pick up my car I saw it sitting up front. When I walked up to the car and inspected it I quickly noticed that this car didn't have any of the extra options that had been on the build sheet they showed me and we negotiated price on. When I asked the salesman what was going on, he kept saying ""this is the car we showed you"" I had to keep rephrasing my question to get a straight answer out of him. Finally I asked ""Does this car have the same VIN number as the one you showed me on the build sheet?"" He said ""No, but it is the same"" I asked why I wasn't told that they couldn't get the car we had discussed, why they didn't keep me in the loop like they said they would. I didn't get an answer. \r

Basically I was given the bait and switch. I expressed my concern to the salesman and the sales manager and told them that the extra option that wasn't on the car was a $1600 option and we had negotiated price based on the car having that option. All they would do was agree to lower the price $500. I should have walked away. I regret not doing that. I agreed to the price because I was tired of dealing with these crooks and just wanted to get my car and get out of the dealership. Because of they're shady tactics I will never again buy any vehicles from this dealership and I'll never recommend anyone else doing the same.
