First root canal for me. I was expecting a lot of pain, but had virtually none. I was referred to Dr. Blumenkranz for this work; he fit me quickly into his schedule for a temporary fix so that I could continue on vacation, and then completed the root canal when I returned. I thought he adequately explained what he was doing, had a good sense of humor, and was sensitive about pain. Other than keeping my mouth continually open, the only real discomfort was a couple moments in the last 10-15 minutes: he would then check with me and alert me when I might feel a little discomfort. Most of the time, I could easily have fallen asleep--except, of course, that my mouth needed to stay open:) I didn't need the pain medication he provided between the 2 visits, and only took the 2 pills after the final visit because they were only 2, and weren't optional. Highly recommended.\r
