1st Choice Heating & Air Conditioning replaced the air conditioner in my apartment building on September 19. While doing so, the tech set off the fire sprinkler near the unit and flooded my apartment. The techs then went about their business replacing the air conditioner and didn't bother cleaning up the mess they made. When I returned home, my floor was still sopping wet, my furniture was sitting in water - they only cleaned up the obvious puddles, leaving the maintenance team and myself to clean up their mess. My entertainment center is now falling apart and cannot be moved because it was sitting in water, my phone charger and my tablet charger are completely fried, a book case has sustained mild water damage. Jim, the service manager, came to my apartment the next day to go over everything, but I hadn't yet been able to determine the extent of the damage. My apartment office had me submit a list of damages, which totaled just over $200 ($100 for entertainment center, $40 for book case, $25 each for chargers). This was all completed by the end of September. Here it is almost mid December, and I have not been reimbursed yet After harassing the super for the renovation project, Jim FINALLY came out on November 13 to look at the damage again, saying that the check would be in the mail by the end of the week. Here it is December 9, almost 3 month after the original issue, and I have yet to receive my check. The complex management itself is also waiting on reimbursement for damages they had to pay for outright.\r
I have also been complaining about my unit not working properly since it's been installed and all they do is give me the run around and tell me it's working fine. Come to find out, there's a leak in the outdoor unit because it wasn't installed properly. I'm still waiting to find out when they will come fix it.
