Visited once this summer. Disappointed in the rudeness & condescension Chip showed us. When we initially arrived we did not know who was available to help us or if we were allowed to browse on our own. We saw a man sitting in a golf cart speaking with another man. When I approached and began to speak (""Excuse me"" was all I was able to say) he responded with not only utter annoyance but sheer disgust that he was busy with another customer. Great first impression. We nearly left - should have. \r

We looked around, assuming this was acceptable since the man in the golf cart was too busy to provide us with any guidance. Beautiful trees, shrubs, etc. Impressive nursery. Sadly it does not make up for our experience. \r

We decided on an ornamental tree - one I had wanted to purchase since I bought my home. I'm not a novice gardener and know what will grow and the concerns involved. Once Chip found time to track us down and he learned of the tree I intended to purchase he spent considerable time lecturing and condescending to me that this tree was going to be a problem for me & did I realize how difficult they are to grow. \r
\r
I was incredibly offended that he would not sell me the tree and continued to question my abilities and knowledge of the tree. It wasn't until I began to walk away from the tree and I verbalized to him that it seemed he did not care to sell me the tree that he actually proceeded to assist me and allowed me to complete the purchase. \r

Needless to say the tree is at my home and is lovely. I wish I could say I will return to make more purchases from Red Mill as the nursery truly is lovely, but the thought of voluntarily dealing with Chip a second time is keeping me from returning. I would rather drive further or take my chances with online orders. Maybe it is because I am a young female. Your guess is as good as mine. But I should have been treated much differently than this if they desired a return customer.
