Editorial review from Citysearch 10/7/2013

I've been a resident of Tahoe Village for over 10 years. In the past six years, while other association fees have gone up, ours have gone down. Each year, the Board of Directors have contested the property taxes, and as of present, our assessments are less than our property taxes. Although I'm not involved, I express both my pleasure and dissatisfaction to the Board of Directors. Whenever I have a problem, I call the Association office, and a woman there (Aron?) has always been polite and helpful. The board communicates with us via a quarterly newsletter. It used to be called the Voice, but I think the name was changed last year. \r The budgets that are prepared reflect that the Association is fiscally responsible. Within the last five years, the roofs on the buildings have been torn off and replaced, without needing a special assessment or raising association fees. For the past two summers, the Association had given out cans of paint and paint brushes to anyone who wanted to paint their front door! They even would paint the door for us, for a nominal fee\r Yes, there are rules, but all they really do is to ask people to be good citizens by putting their stuff away, when making a modification, checking to be sure that it is done properly and within the specification of the rules. The rules do not change or if there is a change, the Board makes us aware. I have been fined on two occasions, but the Board treated me fairly. I was able to state my case, and the Board deliberated. In retrospect, I did not like getting fined, but it was MY fault.\r Lastly, the Board of Directors tries very hard to make Tahoe Village a great neighborhood to raise a family, or just enjoy living in an area. The tennis courts and swimming pool are also nice little perks. more
