BuyBacks is among a growing number of merchants who disregard the Visa and Mastercard policies against requiring an ID when paying by credit card. ""Requiring ID for credit card purchases"" is a policy that helps nobody -- certainly not the customer -- and only serves to aid in identity theft. Sometimes all a dishonest clerk needs is to memorize your zip code, and now they've got everything necessary to use your card number later. I've even had my entire driver's license number stolen in the past, and wholeheartedly support and understand why it's against Visa and Mastercard policy.\r

This is completely lost on the staff at BuyBacks. Not only do they not care that they're breaking their merchant agreement with Visa and Mastercard (which can result in hefty fines, or the suspension of their ability to even accept credit cards at all), I'm not even entirely sure they understand it.\r

Although this is my biggest complaint, it's not the only one. As somebody who collects games, it bothers me that much of their selection has been moved to new ""generic"" DVD cases rather than the original game cases, making them less valuable for collecting. Moreover, the staff is rude and unhelpful, conducting business with an attitude that they'd rather be anywhere else but there.\r

Despite their low prices on used games -- their only saving grace, in fact -- I can't recommend Buybacks at all. In fact, I won't be returning until their policies are in line with what the credit card companies require of them. I'm submitting reports, and hopefully a fine or two will take care of that.
