My first stay at WBI in Casper was in 2007. At that time I found it to be a very good experience. The doctors, therapists and staff were very caring and genuinely concerned about my welfare and recovery. I recently spent 2 weeks there and I am sorry to say that this time the experience was entirely different. I went there because I wasn't sure if the depression was causing the pain in my body or if the pain was causing the depression. Most of the staff was arrogant and rude to the point of being uncaring. I saw my doctor 3 times and my therapist twice. I was allowed to go outside into the courtyard once but because my coat and shoes were locked up, I could not stay out for more than a few minutes. I had a severe migraine while there that they would not treat. I finally phoned the hospital for an ambulance. Then the finally covered the windows, shut of the lights and gave me an ice pack.They would not allow me to use regular lighting instead of flourescents which triggered many headaches. The timeliness of medication was terrible -- somedays taking 2 to 2.5 hours of standing in line. I also have very painful fibromyalgia for which they would give me nothing for pain. The staff was completely disorganized and spent more time talking with each other than taking care of patients. I would never recommend that anyone go there. I feel worse off now than I did when I was admitted. I was bullied and lied to and there was nothing I could do about it because I had no rights. I was treated like I was making it all up. There were a few compationate people there, but not as many as there were on power trips. They treat everyone as if they are only drug seeking -- they don't listen to you when you explain what is wrong with you and why you are there. They just assume that everyone there is either abusing alcohol or drugs or is on the verge of either killing yourself or someone else. Their care was very negligent -- almost to the point of being cruel and criminal. They need to get a clue and treat the patients with care and understanding and quit treating them like criminals. Our only ""crime"" is having a physical or mental illness that no one seems to understand.
