Say goodbye to what was once a fabulous bakery. It was a very exciting place before the new ownership took over and decided to overhaul the previous amazing mouth watering experience when viewing the previous bakery shelves. Previously you could delight in an amazing large delectable cream puff which has now been reduced to an ordinary looking cream puff you can get at any bakery. The strawberry shortcake was too good to be true before the overhaul. It was huge stacked with layers very high overflowing with fluffy delectable whip cream. Now it's been reduced to another ordinary looking strawberry shortcake you can find at your local super market. The carrot cake was awsome too. It can even spot in the the display case because it's been reduced in size with the old prices. I use to brag to all my friends about the Katella Bakery and which items are the best and how it was so worth the long drive until recently when I sent some people over and then couldn't understand why they didn't also rave about the bakery. I learned the next day when I was at the bakery and wanted to purchase my usual items and saw that everything has been changing. It is now a regular bakery and not worth the trip. My friends were not impressed and recommended another place which I am looking forward to visiting. It is so sad that new ownership can destroy what was once a fabulous and special bakery that set this bakery apart from others. My last two trips to Katella Deli and Bakery I just skip the bakery part because when I look at the display there is nothing that entices me anymore. Conversations with old customers say the same and claim the ingredients are also different. In the mean time I am learning to make my own pastries and searching for another outstanding bakery.
