We took our dog to this facility for an emergency because she was attacked by a dog with a serious injury to her throat and puncture in her ear. We are grateful that they were able to help, however, feel as if we should have chose another place. when we got there during emergency hours, we were the only people there, so we were also seen right away, but the initial Vet that came into see Bristol basically told us that there was nothing she was going to do for us until the emergency Vet arrived. We given a quote which wasn't too unreasonable for Bristol's injuries and we agreed to charges and would be able to pick her up in a few hours. So far it had been a decent experience with this vet.
when we picked up Bristol, we were told she had been stitched up and was ready to go as the tech put her collar on before we left. We were given Bristol's meds and paid our dues that came in under estimate.
The following day Bristol(a chihuahua size dog) had a lump resembling the size of a soft ball hanging from her chin. Luckily we had a scheduled appt with her regular Vet that morning. Our regular Vet informed us that the antibiotics given to Bristol were NOT recommended for this type of wound and that putting the collar on was NOT a good idea(which I removed earlier in the day after seeing the softball). after proper care and medicines, Bristol was doing well, her infection dropped dramatically and cleared up the puss originally oozing from it, making it easy to see the gaping hole that quail corners left in her throat.
When i called quail corners back to see if they could do anything about the hole because they were the ones who stitched her up, the girl who answered the phone wasn't listening to me. she was laughing at something in the background and was attempting to deny blame from there when I wasn't trying to blame them for anything. I asked her if they could do anything because Bristol has a hole in the middle of her neck and the stitches on her muscle tissue are showing and you can see in her throat, I was told they could but there would be a fee for an exam, putting her back under, and restitching. I have no problem paying, however, it wasn't done correctly in the first place apparently. Who leaves an open hole in a 7 month old puppy's throat? The vets at quail corners.
