I needed a lawyer for a small modification to a real estate deed with Barnstable county. They seemed awful nice and quoted me a fair price, so I hired them. The total amount of work was to modify an existing document by a few words and file it. Wow was I surprized when I got the bill. Not only was the bill a whopping 77% over the quoted service price, but they charged me an incredible 2.5 hours of work. I called the contact there to investigate and the answer I got was that the job took more work than expected. So I hope you all got a laugh - I sure didn't find it very funny. I paid them their highway robbery fee and informed them that there would of course be no further business with them. As lawyers I can't really vouch for their quality, but their honesty leaves a lot to be desired.
