I went to a chemical dependency evaluation at River Ridge and I left there feeling completely hopeless and miserable.
The woman who did my intake was the most cruel individual I've ever dealt with in my life. She basically told me that there is no sense in sobering up since I was already in poor health, overweight and *looked* like a drug user! I couldn't believe my ears. Now I realize that in part, she was right. I certainly am overweight and yes, years of drug abuse have taken their toll but coming from a person that looked like they had their face cured in leather, it was a bit ironic! In reality, I don't look that much different from a typical 41 year old American male. The bottom line is, this woman went out of her way to make sure I felt inslulted and small, that's not her job. I'm glad I made it a point to report her to social serives and hopefully, she isn't there anymore.
I've heard nothing good about this place from other people anyway, the staff is undereducated, there are far better options out there!
