Don't invest in a vet relationship at this clinic 3/11/2012

I have been taking my aging dog to Dr Reising of Animal Healing Center for the last 1-2 years. She was our regular vet. Overall, they are expensive and keep you waiting a fair bit. But the reason I would not recommend them is that in the end when it was time for me to stop extending my dog's life with treatment after treatment and let him die peacefully, Dr Reising accepted my euthanasia appointment, then treated it like a consultation suggesting further treatment, then said that while she did not disagree with my decision to let my dog go (my dog had Cushing Disease that switched into Addison's Disease, had been to an ER vet 3 times in the last 2 weeks, was on opiates for spinal pain, worsening murmur, needed to pee every 1-2 hours) she had just ""done too much euthanasia"" and ""personally could not do it"". Yep, that's right...in the end, when my dog really needed a kind vet and I was barely holding it together at the thought of letting my boy go, she did not provide the professional services of a vet nor the compassion of a fellow human being. more
