No Compassion from Staff\r
I am disappointed to say that Dr. Sumita's staff would not make an appointment for me to see him to have an ingrown toe nail removed due to the fact that the last doctor who cut out an ingrown nail for me would not send Dr. Sumita's office my record. According to Dr. Sumita's staff, he could not see me for an ingrown nail until he was able to ""review"" my patient record. After telling his staff I had tried repeatedly to obtain my medical record they said they would call my last doctor. Dr. Sumita's office tried to call the previous doctor's office for two days and could not even get an answer. Still Dr. Sumita's staff refused to make an appointment for me to see him. Neither of us was able to retrieve my previous medical record, but that did not change the fact that I was in pain. It would be nice if doctors and staff would rely on common sense and a sense of compassion when deciding who can get an appointment. I guess it would be safer to let the problem persist until my medical record arrived and risk blood poisoning. As a teacher, I am on my feet all day and needed relief. Fortunately, Dr. Miller of Chattanooga was able to see me almost immediately for an ingrown nail without my medical record.
