I have booked a table through OpenTable and specifically asked for a nice table in the MAIN dining room because we were celebrating a special occasion. There were a total of 5 of us (all good looking ladies). When we got to Asellina the restaurant was quite empty, especially the MAIN dining room. Maitre d' completely disregarded our request for a table in the MAIN dining room and set us behind the bar in a place that didn't even look like it belonged to the main restaurant. I am coming there to spend $$$$ and have a special occasion so we asked to be moved to the MAIN dining room especially because it was empty. They refused and said they can't do anything for us and if we get to sit in the Main dining room we have to be out by 8, granted our reservation was for 6:30. I mean we had a reservation, we were already there on time, the place was empty why is it that we CAN'T sit in the EMPTY main dining room. They were completely rude to us and lost customers just like that. We don't take **** from these snobby trendy restaurants and I suggest you don't either! We walked out went to DUO and spent a good $1000 bucks there! Who needs this attitude when you are a paying customer with reservations and want to have a great mood on your special occasion. STAY AWAY! BAD MANAGEMENT! RUDE MAITRE D'. Who do they think they are! There are way to many great restaurants in NYC to settle for this disastrous, disgusting place. Don't waste your money.
