I would recommend weighting your jewelry before and after you get your jewelry.
Just be warned. I know the gold band I took in to be combined with another ring I had is now much lighter and the band is no longer square.
I know this because I have the wedding band that was the companion to the gold band and they no longer match. This wedding band which is 1/3 the size is now thicker than the band. I did complain via an e-mail on their web site....but never heard back. I guess they didn't want to address the issue. Just be warned.
I am happy with the creation of the new ring....but it is definitely lighter and the shape has changed. Wish I had weighed it!!!!
