I'm new to the RTP area and had to find a shop to do some work on my car. Based on the reviews here, I decided to check out Modern Service. I have in the past, done a lot of work on my own car, so I have a good idea of how much parts and labor should cost. They charged a fair price for the work performed and were willing to use some parts that I had bought from a wrecker. Some shops will put up a lot of resistance if you want to supply your own parts, so I appreciated that.
After I got the car back, it developed a minor problem that may have been related to the work that had just been done, but there was no way to tell for sure. I took my car back in and they did the repair for free. To me, this is a classic example of how a good reputable shop operates. They could very easily have said the problem was not their fault and charged me 2 hours labor but they did it all for free, just to be on the safe side. Also, since I'm into fixing cars, I like to see what's going on during a repair and the mechanic didn't mind me nosing around a bit while he worked. I could tell he know what he was doing as he zoned right in on the problem and got it fixed up quickly
