Buyer beware 7/14/2011

Sometimes it pays to weigh the pros and cons of saving a few bucks. In this case the savings for the camera I purchased weren't huge. The fact that I received an email with a tracking number AFTER delivery of the product or that a phone call or two were answered by voice mail, not a human, caused me some angst. The topper, though, was the phone call urging me to buy an expensive and unnecessary camera card for nearly four times what I paid on Amazon for one that will be just right. The caller applied a great deal of pressure, mentioning that I had to decide fast because the UPS truck was going to pull out in just a few minutes. Yeah, right. Oh, and that his $79 card costs $200 on Amazon. Really? Anyway, my camera seems okay and I just hope and pray that it doesn't break because 42nd Street Photo is not an authorized Canon dealer. Like I said at the beginning....is it really worth it to save a few bucks? You be the judge. more
