I had a problem with my battery going dead. I took the truck to a parts house to have the battery and charging system checked. They said I had a bad alternator. I had just replaced the alternator replaced a year before. So, I took my truck to the folks at Speedometer Electric. They have all the technical manuals for these old cars. It turned out the alternator is in perfect operating order. It turned out I had a bad ignition switch. Go to the guys that know(they have been in business since 1957). If I had listened to the parts shop, I would have purchased a new alternator, and still would have had the same problem.
