I'm a horrible dental patient. I take better care of my car than my teeth (and I do not care much about cars). I go to the dentist and because I'm always a new patient, they invariably asks, ""So, when was your last visit to a dentist?"" ""A wha ... ?"" I mumble. ""Oh, yeah, hmm, let's see, must of been during the Clinton administration, so that would be, uh ... "" Let's face it, I'm just in denial. My car has a little sticker inside the door that says I need another oil change in 1,000 miles. I need one of those on my molars.
But for the past few years I've been going to Dr. Johnson on a regular basis. I think I could sum it up in one word: TRUST. Back to my car servicing: I know nothing about cars. When I bring it into the shop, I don't know if it's going to be $50 or $5,000. Pretty much the same gamble when I walk into the dentist (see note above about how often I used to take that gamble). But I trust Dr.Johnson. She will explain what it is she's doing, why she's doing it, and, if I ask, how much it's going to cost. If I just need a cleaning, she's going to just do a cleaning. If I need a root canal, I know that she's doing it in my best interest and not for an extra buck. I just trust her.
So that's where I stand on Dr. Johnson. Anyone know a good car mechanic? Haha
