I've been window shopping for furniture for quite a while, since I'm kind of a tightwad when it comes to buying high-end things. And after reading another review here about a bad experience at Stone's Throw, I was tempted to pass them by. I'm sure glad I didn't do that! From the moment I walked in the door, the ladies were nothing but helpful! The sales people weren't annoying or pushy like at other stores (she told me they don't make commission, so she had no secret motives to pressure me. haha), and they are also interior designers! It was a COMPLETELY different experience to shop here because of that. It was like I had my own designer every time I came in.
Because my house is a little smaller, I actually had one of the ladies come over and measure the space (I wouldn't know what to do with a tape measure to save my life...). It's a good thing I did -- because the couch I initially wanted wouldn't have even fit through my hallway!
So, when I finally ordered what I wanted, I was told it would be the standard 6-8 week waiting period (Except for the little accessories I got to take home that day). But because I hosting a grad party next weekend, the lady offered the possibility of letting me borrow a sofa if something happened to go wrong with my order or shipment!! Seriously, who offers service like that?! Of course I didn't tell her about my reputation for spilling things. hahah.
My new sofa came 4 days ago -- which means it took 8 weeks total. That's a little longer than I usually wait for things, but for a custom-made piece of furniture, I'd say that's a pretty good turn-around, right? Even their delivery guys seemed friendlier than most -- and were super cautious when carrying it through the house.
All in all, I would HIGHLY recommend this store to my friends (Actually, I already have -- a lot). The furniture is top-of-the line, which is to be expected at their price-point, but the service was what will keep customers coming back! They really seemed to care about how my house looked, and helped me pick out things that I really love! I'm hoping to start shopping for new bedroom furniture soon, and Stonesthrow will be my first stop!
