I have been living a nightmare that started a year ago with my cataract surgery in my right eye by Dr. Jerry Hu. Since I had RK surgery 30 years ago and was concerned about its possible affect on the outcome of cataract surgery, I went to Dr Hu because he is a ""conea specialist"". He was very confident he could give me good vision for near and far.\r Dr. Hu convinced me to have a Crystallens implant because I should be able to see distance and close up with it. (I wish I had known that the Crystalens does not have a UV filter. When glancing at a black-light, my non cataract eye sees a dim purple light, but when looking at it with my eye with the Crystalens implant, it looks almost like looking at the sun)\r After the cataract surgery, I could see fairly well very close but not at all far. Also, it caused a severe astigmatism, and the RK scars were now in my field of vision and were very disturbing at night.\r To correct these problems, Dr Hu did PRK on my cornea. This helped somewhat but a few weeks later, I developed ""cornea haze"" from the PRK scarring, causing blurred vision near and far. Medication reduced the haze a little but my eye became very red and inflamed from the medication. I have switched doctors and tried steroids to reduce the haze but to no avail. The vision in this eye can only be corrected to 20/70. The new doctor recommends another PRK. What a nightmare. more
