With three floors of shopping, Jack's World/Jack's 99cent store has pretty much everything you might imagine you'd find at any typical 99 cent/discount store. But more of it, in a constantly changing array. It's got: food (dry goods, refrigerated & frozen), hardware, party supplies, hair accessories, seasonal decor, toiletries, luggage, bath supplies, kitchen ware, toys, electronics, etc. It's reliable for picking up basic household needs, and of course there's some tacky junk, but the real deals are the closeouts here. You never know what you'll find, but you can often get amazing discounts on brand-name stuff.??
I've always loved this place. I used to go here all the time when I worked on 34th Street many years ago. I'd come here for party supplies, office supplies, random snacks, etc.! At some point they added a third floor with some electronics and gourmet foods. They have a good selection of fancy oils, vinegars, salami and a decent selection of cheese and cold cuts. Totally not what I expected from Jack's. Needless to say those things are not 99 Cents but still priced cheaper than you'd find elsewhere.
The place is kept clean and reasonably organized, and they have a plethora of cashiers (some on each floor), so it's always quick to get out of there with your purchases. One tip: shop on the first floor first, because you can bring merchandise up to the second and third floors, but you can't pay for it there.
