I took my beautiful Irish Wolfhound girl in there earlier this year. She would have been 6 in July. My sweet angel got a brown recluse spider bite on the left side of her tail. No matter what I "knew" to do, it just would not heal. In an unreal short amount of time, this bite robbed her of the muscle in her hips and she was quickly losing her ability to stand/walk. I knew her quality of life was no more. I took her in and Dr. O'Brien and the staff were incredible. They were kind, gentle, talked with me, listened to me go over and over about what a "good girl" she was. And when he examined her, he knew too that she was at her end and he kindly helped her out of her misery to that sweet, forever sleep. I was allowed to sit with her and cry 'as long as I needed'. Dr. O'Brien sat with me, then left me to my tears. When I felt okay enough to get up...they listened to me some more, with gentle words of sorrow and sympathy.
