I adopted a dog from a legit rescue on Tuesday, and it was horribly sick by Thursday. When I took it into a """"regular"""" vet, they tentatively diagnosed her as having pain from her spay stitches. Wrong. By early Saturday morning, I knew my dog was worse than ever, and I took her to EC Emergency Clinic. It turns out that my dog has parvo (she must have gotten it a day or two before she was vaccinated by the rescue's vet). She's currently in her second day of treatment at the clinic, and is already doing significantly better. The vets understand that I have gone over my annual """"dog budget"""" in a week, but I am OK with that since she's receiving 24-hour veterinary care, unlike regular clinics where the vets go home in the evening and return in the morning.
