When I was finally ready to get sober, Ocean Hills (AKA Shaggy's House) was there to show me the way. I showed up broken and hopeless, having been to a couple of very expensive rehabs and a psych ward or two. I figured that I'd give it one last shot before I cashed in my chips.
The experience of the staff there lit the way for my recovery. In two months, I will have been clean and sober for three years. People had been trying to get me sober since I was 16, and I had begun really trying at 19. I went to Shaggy's house at 22, and have been sober since.
Ocean Hills facilitated my entry into the local recovery community, and I decided to make Dana Point my home. I stayed at Shaggy's for about 6 months, and am now working and going to school. I had never held a job for more than a couple of months and had flunked out of three different colleges- I've been working at the same job for two years and have a 3.8 GPA. I have rewarding friendships and relationships, and am so grateful that OHR was there to guide me as I began my journey into sobriety.
Bottom line- if you're ready to get sober, OHR will give you everything you need to do it.
