My spouse and I are frustrated and disappointed with the Centers for Family Change. The doctors churn through patients. This leaves them little time to prepare and emits a blatant lack of customer consideration - the sense that a patient isn?t valued. Consulting with three of the Center?s doctors (Dr. Steven Sacks, Dr. Perrota, and Dr. Miriam Abel) has proven them to be: Unprepared/ Inefficient - Spending 1/3 of the session asking questions already answered in pre-session documents. - You can only talk to a voicemail system, unless you select ?emergency.? This results in constant phone-tag. Unprofessional/ Rude - Putting barefeet up during the consultation - In response to requesting a consistent time the doctor noted not having met with us enough to be able to allow a consistent time. - Near the end of the session when we asked for ?next steps/homework? for the next appt. the doctor replied, ""I can?t answer that, your time is up."" -Due to having rescheduled 3 times the doctor left a message: ?that it?s been too difficult and that [the doctor] didn?t have time, nor availability to schedule and reschedule, and suggested I start over as a new client with a different therapist.? - When trying to set up one appt. (by phone), the doctor asked ?for what day and time?? I noted Thurs. He indicated a completely new (new to us, and new to the practice) therapist with varying Thurs. dates and times. I wished to check my work calendar and asked to hold a moment. I was attempting to get my work calendar open on my phone. It didn?t open so I rushed into the other room, grabbed my work computer and tried to open my work calendar. In those short moments the doctor got frustrated, raised his voice and stated ?I?m not trying to be rude, but indicated that we needed to have a consistent day and time ready when we called.? If the doctor doesn?t have that kind of patience how can we think they?ll be patient with solving a problem? Who needs the therapy? Each session is $150/ hr. That?s a lot of money for someone to refuse 2 extra seconds to answer a question. How do you fix a problem if you don't express value to your client, or allow for a problem to be regularly addressed? We?re both highly educated, but sought additional resources for assistance in solving a problem. We were appalled at the immaturity and the blatant lack of customer consideration.
