We just got back from a long vacation in Florida for which we rented the RV from K Rentals for 2 weeks. The vacation was extremely enjoyable, made more so by the excellent experience at K Rentals.
A. Checking Around
I did a lot of research on the net and found K Rentals to be the only company that has very clearly laid out policies and is easy to get quotes from when you are still trying to decide whether to rent or not.
B. Reservation & Changes
To start with, their change / cancellation policy made me feel comfortable that I will not get into a situation where I might regret having booked early.
The process of booking was very smooth and I was able to get all details I needed before I made the reservation.
All charges and fees etc. were clearly mentioned on the contract and unlike another company they didn't add on any 'cumpolsary extras' in the end.
C. Pick-up
The pick-up process was as smooth as the rest of the experience so far. All paperwork was ready and waiting for us. We paid the balance amount (including a $750 security deposit), did an inspection of the RV and were on our way.
A good option that K Rentals provides is an option to return the RV with the propane tanks un-refilled (for a fee) and the sewage tanks un-emptied (for another nominal fee). We felt the charge was worth the benefit of not having to figure out where to empty the drains (since we were camping in a Park campground with no hookups).
D. Driving experience
The RV gave us absolutely no trouble - mechanical or otherwise. The RV was comfortable for us to sleep in (4 adults and 2 children), with some space left over.
Sitting in the back was very comfortable for the passengers as well and all of them had good naps while 2 of us drove.
Their driver assistance number is also a very useful thing to have though we didn't need to use it.
E. Return
Return was as smooth as the reservation and pick-up. We cleaned the RV well from inside. They charged us for the extra miles that we had traveled more than what we had pre-paid for and returned us the rest of the $500 deposit.
All in all, it was a very friendly and positive experience and I would definitely rent again from them and would recommend them strongly to everyone.
