New Management=Poor Management 2/17/2011

I miss the old Swinging Arm--the friendly servers, the menu, the atmosphere, the chalkboard list of on-tap beers... Ive been to the ""new"" place twice and won't be going back.\r \r I say poor management because the new owners won't listen to their customers. They have 12 beers on tap. That's GREAT but its not enough to bring me back. Without the chalk board, you have to go up and try to read the tap handles from across the bar. Take your binoculars. Nobody bothered to ask if I needed help, probably because I wasn't in the ""order here"" line. I heard the woman (owner I believe) tell another customer who missed the chalkboard that with all the turnover, it would be too much trouble to keep the board updated! That's just plain LAZY! On another visit, both the owners (a couple) were totally rude to another couple.\r \r The food was just okay. The redesign of the seating is not pleasing. The order at the bar ""pub style"" is another pain. I probably would have had another beer if somebody cared to ask me and deliver it to my table.\r \r It seems that the new ownership is purely driven be the profit motive (I get that) but to cram your way or the highway down throats of people used to better is off-putting. It's tavern should be a friendly, relaxing, fun place. Maybe people who don't know any better will like it. Me, I'm prepared to drive a long way to find better. more
