I called Ames Plumbing after seeing a billboard on 316 for a septic pumping for a 1000 gallon tank at the price of $198. After the technician informed me that he could not pull the truck into my yard (because tow trucks cost too much if his vehicle got stuck) he explained that there would be a $39 dollar charge for each hose that he had to use, which. in my case was two. After he removed the lid, he told me there would be another $176 because my tank was ""overfull"". I declined a $400 charge for an exploratory dig to find more problems with my septic tank. The total bill ended up being $432.23. I truly felt like I was taken advantage of and will never ever consider using Ames again.
