I was contacted by Joy K. from the Manhattan office in the spring of 2009 after she had seen my resume posted on Careerbuilder. From the start, she was condescending and patronizing, saying things like ""I can tell you're really smart, so that's why I'm trying to help you, etc."" She told me to remove my resume posting from all employment websites because I was ""overexposing"" myself too. She also had me change my resume around a lot and played with the wording and job titles so that it looked more appealing (in her mind) to the employers - I thought this seemed a bit dishonest. Despite my much better judgment and gut feeling, I decided to keep an open mind and meet her. Given the bad job market, I felt it was necessary to explore every job opportunity - just in case.
