I had a chance to work there when I was 11 and I loved it. We then found out that you legally had to be 14 to work in a retail food restaurant so I wasn't able to work there anymore. The owner and his family were ALL very nice and honest people. They would not overcharge you and cheat you out of your money. The owner made sure that everybody had a Food Handler's Permit before being hired, and yes every employee always washed their hands. The ""15 year old manager"" was always very polite to the customers and took care of any problem professionally.
