Last night I called the Valley gunshop and asked if he would be interested in trading my Ithica deer slayer with a bushnell scope and a mossberg 835 12 ga. camo package for a marlin 35 or a marlin 30-30, He said yes and he had both there. As you can imagine I was pretty stoked because years back I had to sell my rifle to pay some bills, and now I'm getting it back! So I thought. I always went to this shop to buy all my guns and I baught one of the guns that I was going to trade for the 30-30. As soon as he saw the gun's to be traded he said my mossburg wasnt worth much and then he Accused me of cutting the barrel down on the Ithica deer slayer because it had a mark on the barrel where it leaned againsed the felt in my gun cabnet. As he started measuring the gun barrel,and found it to be normal length, I noticed the price on the used 30-30 it was 440.00! I knew then that he was trying to rip me off because Dicks is selling brand new Marlin 30-30s with a scope for 350.00. When I said to the owner that I thought you can get these new for 350.00 he then put my guns back in the cases and said he wasnt interested! Who does that! He got busted, trying to make my guns look like they werent worth anything, so he not only gets two guns worth atleast 600.00 for both but then to over charge for a gun that shouldnt cost over 325.00! So I waisted half of my day off only to be falsly accused of something illegal when he's the one that sold me the gun in the first place. He not only lost my business but he also lost business from my friend Kevin, who was with me to buy some military rifles.
