My wifeand I along with my Brother-in-law and his wife did a 3400 mile ride in September 2011. After a lay over in Kansas City we headed out for blue skies and smooth roads. We had to put some air into our rear tire that morning but found nothing wrong with the tire itself. We headed toward St. Joseph but had no real intentions of stopping. We had never been through there and had no knowledge of the area.
7 miles from St. Joe we had a blowout at around 75 mph. I firmly believe the trailer we were pulling helped to stabilize the rear end and with a bit of fishtailing we pulled off the edge of the road. SUNDAY MORNING!!!!
After waiting for what seemed an eternity we finally had our tow truck arrived and off we went to the dealership. I figured I would have to drop the bike and call them from wherever we stayed that night..the tire was shot.
The next morning I called the dedalership and they had already assessed why my bike was sitting in thier parling lot and starting hunting a tire for it. The manager said he would call when they had it ready. We had hope of getting on the road later that day.
Later in the morning the manager called me back and told me thay had no luck locating a tire in the area. Thier's was the only bike shop open on mondays. He said he had a new bike with the same tire still in the crate and if I wanted he would have it pulled off and mounted for us. DO BEARS SQUAT IN THE WOODS??!
The manager called in the early afternoon with news that the bike was ready and he would be by shortly to pick us up at the hotel and deliver us to the dealership.
That's what I call service. He also didn't charge us the additional labor for having pulled the tire from another bike. He got my vote. Everyone I talked to in the shop and showroom were extremely helpful and very friendly.
I recommend anyone passing through St. Joe to stop and visit with this team. I know we will be stopping in when we go through next time. Thanks Outdoor Power and Sports, Inc!
