I received a Cartier watch last yr. for Christmas from my husband purchased at Ermitage. Two weeks ago the watch quit working, assumed it was the battery. Went to Cartier at Lenox for battery. They called today to say it was more than a dead battery. Cost would be $415.00 to repair. I feel sure that this must be covered under a 1 yr. warranty so I called Ermitage to see if they couId pull up the info so I can send someone from Cartier to Ermitage with watch. I am out of town and do not have my receipt with me (doesn't everyone carry all their receipts with them all of the time for all of their stuff?) and will not be at the home where said receipt is located for another 2 weeks. That will probably be 1 day after the warranty is good as well as the week before Christmas. They said I would have to find ""your own receipt"". Peace on Earth, Goodwill to men... if you have your own receipt from 11 months ago with you 2,000 miles away from home.
