When moving to Austin, my old Aveda salon told me to try the Aveda Institute as it was a great deal! I have been going to the Aveda Institute since they began accepting appointments in Dec 2010 and have been thrilled with all the services. Instructors work with the student and monitor the work so you don't feel like a guinea pig and everyone I have met there is very friendly! The one downside to the appointments is since you are working with students & their instructors, the appointments are longer than what you would experience in a regular salon. However, when you book, the receptionist should be able to tell you how long to plan for whatever you are having done! Hair is great but don't forget to sample their Spa Services also -- really a hidden gem and GREAT prices!!
