THIS IS NOT A SECURE PLACE TO LIVE 11/1/2011

DO NOT RENT HERE While on vacation for 5 months I received news on October 5th, 2011 from a friend I had checking my mail that there was a certified letter from Nashville Wrecker Service stating that my car had been towed for expired tags on September 22, 2011 and that it would be sold at auction by the wrecker service ( West Nashville Wrecker Service) within 10 Days, which was before I was scheduled to return. TheCove left a note on the car that of course I wouldn’t see on September 20, 2011. I gave notice that I would be out of the country to The Cove but no one bothered to make note of it. I wrote a letter to The Cove and all of the managers at GrayCo (www.graycoprops./) . explaining the situation and asked if anything could be done to help resolve this issue, and none of them even bothered to respond. I then called the office to speak to the manager and was told that it was my problem and that I was not the only one that this happens to, sorry for the inconvenience. I am a mother with child and it was my only transportation, my husband has a car but needs it to go back and forth to work. What if my son gets sick or has an accident, I have no way to take him to the hospital or pediatrician. I have no way to go to the grocery store if I run out of milk or diapers for the baby while my husband is a t work. Now my only option is to purchase another car. To make things worse the car had my babies strollers, car seat and other personal belongings that I would not be able to recover causing me even more expense. When I arrived home I walked to the office with my baby in my arms, since I didn’t have a car and my husband was already at work, to speak with the apartment manager to ask for her help or assistance in this matter, all she said was that I’m sorry for the inconvenience and that we do not even check to see who owns the car we just put a notice on the car and then tow it two days later, so even if they knew that I was gone they would have made no effort to check who’s car it was and notify them other than the note on the car ( which of course I would never see). I can’t even imagine if I was very sick and couldn’t leave the apartment for a few days or weeks, and something like this happened, I would walk down to my car and realize it was gone with no notice. They made no effort to contact me by email , a letter on my apartment door that my friend checking the apartment could have seen nor notify my emergency contact that there was an issue with my car. The notice I received from the wrecker service was sent 2 weeks after the car had been towed, racking up the daily storage fees of $20 dollars per day. This seems like some kind of deal between the apartments and the wrecker service to extort money from us. If there would have been notification on the same day my friend could have at least notified me and we may have had a chance to recover the car. My reason for writing this complaint is to warn potential renters so this sort of thing does not happen to you. If you are looking for a nice secure place to live, The Cove ‘IS NOT’ an option you should consider, especially if you are someone who travels constantly for work, school, or any other reason. You may come back with a towed car or maybe even evicted for some reason you were never warned about. Other than what happened to me, the security gate is always broken, cars get broken into often (including mine before they towed it), and there are many noisy neighbors with loud cars and stereos that think it is cool to rev their engines really late at night and shake the walls with the bass from their stereos waking up my son. more
