After reading all the reviews, i decided to give them a shot. Its not too easy to find a real herp vet, and the one other reptile review on here was positive.
The parking isnt easy, but manageable. The front desk staff was okay. I had read a lot of bad reviews on their customer service. I dont think they mean to be rude or standoff-ish. I think its more just the, get down to business attitude. Im not there to have special treatment for me, im more concerned with the attitude of the doctor and techs. They seemed thorough with their initial entrance questions about my leopard geckos past and present history. The other techs came out and were very sincere in their interest in the gecko.
I was taken back right away after the initial intake. They gave me extra info on the species, the Dr. dorn came in, gave a fairly quick exam, instructed his techs on what was to be done, and they both were extremely helpful. I believe the one tech owned reptiles, so it was very easy to relate to him. He explained everything well, demonstrated what i was to do. They do encourage you greatly to call within a week to report back with any results or changes. And best of all the cost was very reasonable. I thought for a fecal test, 3 meds, and the visit i would be spending a lot...it cost about $100, having the initital visit being $51.
I would go back to West Liberty Animal Hospital for my reptiles any day. Highly recommended.
