On Aug 8, 2006 picked up 8 wk old GSD, puppy weight 8 lbs, told runt of the litter. At 15 weeks puppy put to sleep the puppy still weight 8 lbs, Vet told us the puppy was a dwarf German Shepherd. This is rare, but look up Dwarf German Shepherd on Google. We were given a replacement for this puppy that was born Oct 3, 2006. In Dec 2007 This pup was diagnosed with EPI * Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency. These two health Issues are Genetic. This pup is now 5 years old, looks great, good temperament, but must have costly enzymes put in her food. She cannot eat anything without enzymes and this is not a curable disease. With 2 dogs in a row with genetic defects I cannot in good consciousness recommend her for breeding, but she did refund the purchase price on this dog.
