I had liposuction by Dr Klapper on my outer thighs 2 years ago. When i first went it, i was put off by his cocky demeanor, but i was hopeful that his cockiness equated to confidence in his ability. I was very wrong!
He left 4 scars on of my outer thighs that are the size of cigarette burns. The scars on my right side are vertical whereas the scars on my left side are horizontal- after speaking with 3 other surgeons, my theory was confirmed that he had one of his assistants work on one side of me while he did the other- which is why the stitch work is inconsistent. Additionally, and the most prevalent reason i am writing to warn others, is that he did an uneven job and left a horrible crease in my right outer thigh- something that is clearly noticeable even through pants/leggings. I went back to him 6 months after the initial surgery to let him know how unhappy I was with the results, and he responded ""oh i guess we can schedule a 'touch up' procedure"", which costed me another $1250 (on top of the $4000 i paid the first time). HIs touch up was a very poor attempt, which he almost decided not to do the night before- as apparently the location he was working at had filed bankruptcy- something i only found out after the fact- he did the ""touch up"" at an alternate location, and made me promise not to contact the old office. He also had his assistant call me at 6pm the night before the surgery to let me know i need to bring my own compression garment... i ran around for 2 hours that evening looking for stores that sold them, and ended up having to shell out $150 for the thing!
The touch up- didnt accomplish much- as i stated previously, its 2 years later and i still have 8 scars (4 per side) that look as though someone burned me with a cigarette, and such a severe crease in my right outer thigh that you can see it through pants. After the touch up i went in for a follow up- where i was only met with another assistant and when i told her how i was still unhappy- she told me i have to wait to see the full affects. Dr Klapper never returned a single phone call or letter after that .
If you are considering getting work done, please be smarter then i was and dont go to Dr. Andrew Klapper... there are so many certified surgeons in Manhattan, do you research and get recommendations first!!
