Best Steak in Portland 9/16/2010

I'm not sure why this site has negative reviews. It certainly wasn't our experience. We arrived around 4:30 and found the parking lot about 70% filled. The ambience was was that of a '70s steak house, but bright and clean. We were promptly shown to our table, and our waitress, Cheryl, was outgoing, made suggestions, answered our questions, and was very attentive. Within a few minutes, she brought the relish tray and dipping sauce; the relish tray consisted of carrot strips, pickle spears, olives, and celery. -- We opted for an appetizer of onion rings, which were excellent - and plentiful. The salad that came with the dinner was rather plain, but we weren't there for the salad. My wife had the chicken soup, which was excellent. Because it was our first visit, we decided to try the 24oz rib eye steak ($29). It was cooked to perfection, and tender. We, of course, wound up taking home half of our steaks, so on our next visit, we'll be ordering much smaller steaks. (They serve steaks up to 70oz, which if free if you can eat it in an hour.) Overall, it was an excellent dinning experience -- and we will be back. more
