After a great experience with Shelby doing an eyebrow wax & color, I decided to give their hairstyist a try after mine has moved across the country.
Stopped in a week before, chatted with the receptionist, showed her the color combination my stylist used & she said no problem it was an easy formula to duplicate. Took a card, checked out the reviews and called back a few days later.
Left a message with my full name, phone numbers, what I was looking for - a 2 minute long message with details since I don't have time in the middle of the work day to make calls. It took 3 phone calls to get this settled. I should have went with my gut at that time and cancelled the appointment.
Appointment day comes, I show Judy the formula and measurements and then I hear, well, we don't exactly have that, lets grab the book and try to match it. :-( Okay, maybe it's expecting a little much, but if you're a colorist, please know how to work the different product colors to get the effect. Disappointed after the receptionist told me that was an easy one achieve. I asked for 1/2" off the ends as well.
About 30 minutes into this appointment, I'm rocking a pretty good migraine. Unfortunately, I'm being asked, like, every, like, single, like question in the book. She's trying to figure out if she's seen me in there before. (I saw Shelby once, the other 3 times I've called, she hasn't been in), well then didn't she introduce us? I think that's how I know you. I get you're trying to build rapport, but relax a little. Then came the sales techniques, I heard all about the benefits of Clarisonic brushes, even after I told her I had one at home. I'm freaking out about this time and ready to ask to skip the haircut as well.
I appreciate that Judy was thorough, but 2-1/2 hours for a solid all over color and cut that was more than 1/2"!!!! OMG! I wanted to cry. Not to mention, my hair isn't red, it's more brown, poop brown than red! She offered to fix the color, but I just wanted to get out the door. I was too scared to see what red she'd come up with. I can't stand the color, but don't have the money to spend to have someone else try to fix it!
I may need to fly monthly to Florida to have my old stylist do my hair.
