I am pregnant with my first child and my in-laws who live in Whiting have temporarily taken my cats to help us out. My cat became sick and my husband and I went down to Whiting to bring him to the vet. We went to Tom's River Animal Hospital and $170.00 later were told he probably had a UTI and we were given medicine. After a couple days of monitoring him we realized he was not getting any better. We were concerned since he had one prior incident with urinary crystals that caused a blockage. We took him back to the animal hospital and we were given an estimate of roughly $2,000.00 for a catheterization and two day hospital visit. I expressed concern that it was a very high estimate since we had already gone through this and my doctor up in Northern Jersey had charged us $1,200.00 for the same thing plus that was a four day hospital visit.
